Costs

The Bowmen of Glen Archery Society was established in 1959 and welcomes all aspects of archery with the exception of crossbows. Membership to the club costs the following amounts

  • Seniors £70

  • Students £52.50 (proof of eligibility may be requested)

  • Juniors (Under 18's) £15

  • Social £5

  • Membership fees are due each April.

  • Seniors may their fee in 2 halves (April & August)

  • Social members may not shoot.

Affiliation to the national body, Archery GB (previously known as GNAS), must also be paid by all senior members. This costs £44 per year and is payable by the end of September.

*If joining part way through the year the club membership fees will be reduced pro rata.

 

How To Join

Any person wishing to join the club must prove that they are able to shoot safely & have completed a beginners course. Therefore one of the clubs coaches will assess your shooting to ensure that you meet the required standard. If you are already affiliated to Archery GB you must produce your affiliation card to prove this.

New To The Sport?

If you're new to archery then we've just the thing for you. The club runs beginners courses as a precursor to joining the club. We charge £35 per person for the course which will take place over one weekend. The club will provide all of the required equipment for the duration of the course. Archery is suitable for all ages so juniors are most welcome, however we do ask that a parent or guardian joins them on the course.

    British archery Nicky Hunt has won a gold medal at the FITA World Cup Grand Final tournament in Shanghai. She also picked up a bronze medal as a member of the GB trio in the women's compound team tournament. And the men's compound team won a silver medal in their event.
